The Quran is the central religious text of Islam and is considered the word of God by Muslims. It is believed to have been revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the angel Jibril (Gabriel) over a period of 23 years. The Quran is divided into 114 chapters (surahs) and contains more than 6,000 verses (ayat). Maka Allah ﷻ menurunkan firman-Nya: "Alif Lam Ra. Ini adalah ayat-ayat Kitab (Al-Qur'an) yang jelas." (Yusuf: 1) Sampai dengan firman-Nya: "Agar kalian memahaminya." Innā anzalnāhu qur'ānan 'arabiyyal la'allakum ta'qilūn (a). Sesungguhnya Kami menurunkannya (Kitab Suci) berupa Al-Qur'an berbahasa Arab agar kamu mengerti. نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ اَحْسَنَ الْقَصَصِ بِمَآ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْكَ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَۖ وَاِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ لَمِنَ الْغٰفِلِيْنَ About Surah Yusuf: Surah Yusuf (in Arabic text: يوسف‎) is the 12th chapter of the Qur'an. إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ. Arab-Latin: Innā anzalnāhu qur`ānan 'arabiyyal la'allakum ta'qilụn. Artinya: Sesungguhnya Kami menurunkannya berupa Al Quran dengan berbahasa Arab, agar kamu memahaminya. « Yusuf 1 Yusuf 3 ».
